The DC Local Leaders Podcast Investigates the #Mindset of Impactful LeadersOne of the traits of #leadership that I've found in my conversations is the ability to inspire action in others by relatable shared experiences.

In the few opportunities I've had to speak with Amy, she's caused a ripple effect of #action within me and I am #grateful for the opportunity.We're fellow Early Birds and Amy shares her morning routine where she is deliberate about her #gratitude practice and exercise which allows her to gain Clarity of Purpose for her day.

We gain some insight into how she leads and why she believes that we’re more than the position we hold and embraces the fact that our home life is a major part of who we are in our professional life.

She was raised by a single mother who was in civilian service to the US Army along with her Great Grandfather who served in the US Navy. Amy reflects on the impact they both made on her at a young age by showing her an example of working hard, service to others, and the power of gratitude.After graduating from the United States Naval Academy Amy spent time on the Deck of a Guided Missel Destroyer ship 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒𝐒 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐧 "𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐫" where she was taught how to perform in the face of uncertainty and how to lead others effectively when emotions are high.

She was able to travel the World to more than 40 countries experiencing diplomacy both by ship and as a Congressional Liaison to the U.S. House of Representatives.
