"Self-less Service Creates Change"
Kristyn Burr leads the way as CEO of HomeAid Northern Virginia a nonprofit servicing all humans suffering from Homelessness. These include our Veterans, Children, Domestic Violence, Mental health & Trauma sufferers. Over 10,000 people are homeless each night in the Washington DC area & approximately 37,000 are veterans nationwide.
Hear the journey to her purpose of blending an MBA with a passion for philanthropy and service above her self. Her shift in perspective from traveling to over 40 countries, being a mother, cycling , and being a Yoga Teacher prepares her to serve every day. Additionally, she is the founder SEVA Prison Yoga which takes a yoga practice to prison inmates in partnership with the Fairfax County Government and Loudoun County Government.
An example of their work is HomeAid Northern Virginia’s partnership with The Christopher Companies and Operation Renewed Hope Foundation to renovate and rebuild a home creating a safe space for formerly homeless veterans.
